As is shown in the cartoon, reading makes a person stand higher and see further. Indeed, we will acquire and accumulate knowledge through reading. However, in the age of information explosion, more and more people tend to read electronic books on computers and smart phones rather than physical books,which undermines the lasting pleasure brought by reading paper books. What's worse, people are increasingly counting on fast reading to enrich their mind, but lose the patience to enjoy a book slowly. A large amount of skim reading will eventually damage our capability to have a thorough grasp of one book. Therefore, we should cultivate a right consciousness of reading, and try to read in a less anxious way.
