This picture shows that a tourist shamelessly scribbles "I have traveled this place" on certain place of historical interest. The cartoonist vividly shows when the tourist picks up his pen trying to leave his mark, he has already discarded his sense of shame.
The cartoonist is obviously reminding us of the proper manners which a tourist is supposed to hold at sightseeing. Now it is quite common to see such similar marks as "I was here" at scenic or historical spots. This tradition may originate from the ancient Chinese poets who usually left a mark to prove his presence. An old saying as"A wild goose leaves behind a voice and a man leaves behind a name"may attest this. However, tradition does not always make sense. Firstly, random carving on the historical relics will ruin their integrity and undermine their cultural value. It would be a disaster if every tourist left a mark at a historical spot. Secondly, free doodling by tourists will also increase the workload to restore and protect the historical relics.
To maintain the integrity of those scenic and historical spots, it is high time that tourists should stop this misconduct. A tourist can simply leave behind a good name just by leaving nothing at all.
